When malathion was regularly used in an agricultural area, 98% of the children had well-documented reduced visual acuity and myopia which were not evident the years the chemical was not applied.
Occupational exposure to pesticides in men is associated with an increased risk of Parkinson’s disease.
Solvents such as benzene, xylene, toluene and styrene can lower testosterone and sperm levels.
Now let us consider the concept of “total load.” Picture the body as a bathtub with a small drain at one end. Whatever we take in fills the bathtub. Thus what we fill it with include foods, vaccinations, drugs, vitamin and mineral supplements, chemicals, heavy metals, and pesticides. Theoretically, our body should be able to convert anything we take in into a helpful or non-harmful chemical. An example of this is alcohol as a beverage. Our wonderful chemical factory, the liver, converts the alcohol to different chemicals that we eliminate.
The problem arises however, when we drink amounts faster than our body can convert. The result is the tipsy or drunken feeling. This means our detox system is unable to convert the alcohol fast enough, so we feel the pharmacological effect of it. It may also happen that our drainage system is plugged leaving us unable to eliminate adequately the chemicals the liver makes in the process of detoxifying.
We might not drink “much,” but our detoxifying factory may be deficient in the fuels it needs to run its operations. As a result, metabolic byproducts can build up. These can be harmful in their own right.
It may also be that because of previous contamination, some of the “equipment” in the detoxifying process is either rusty or not working at all. Perhaps some contaminant(s) gummed up the equipment.
When our body cannot detoxify adequately, we see build up of toxic chemicals. Where do we put them? We “store” them in lymph, and fat, in joints, and anywhere around the body we find. However, because they are toxic, we feel inflamed by their presence. This inflammation results in pain, swelling, stiffness, and/or redness. This inflammation can result in heart disease, arthritis, cancer, and other disorders.
To reduce the likelihood of such inflammation developing, to reduce what has developed, it is important to clear out the drainage plumbing (specifically performed in our body by the lungs, the intestines, the skin, and the kidneys).
- Thus talk about “green” means eating food grown without pesticides or without toxic fertilizers.
- It means using household and office products that are not harmful to our body and that breakdown easily in the environment.
- It means avoiding using toxic pesticides by implementing a preventive management program against pests.
- It means exercising to promote better circulation and movement of nutrients to support detoxification and movement of toxins out of the body.
- It means drinking adequate quantities of “clean” water daily.
- And it means getting enough sleep in a healthy environment to give our body time to heal itself.

Homeopathy is one of the most powerful healing tools available to us. It is safe for a novice to use who prefers not to employ harsh chemicals to address health issues. Used by an expert, the remedies literally can work miracles.
The beauty of homeopathy is that one can start simply. There are combination remedies available in most health food stores and even many regular drug stores now. If you try one combination and it works, great. If it does not help you, you have not hurt yourself in trying.
There are a number of books written for those who would like to learn the basics for using single remedies. For home use, I highly recommend
Our Toxic World A Wake Up Call by Doris J. Rapp, MD
